Berlin-based sales company Picture Tree Intl. has acquired worldwide distribution rights, including Germany and Austria, from C Films for the new film “Hello Betty,” directed by Pierre Monard, who also directed the first Swiss series “The Winter Palace,” co-produced with Netflix.

The film focuses on the true story of Emi Creola, the visionary advertising pioneer who created Swiss culinary icon Betty Bossi in 1956. Emi Creola is a fictional character who became famous across generations and linguistic regions in Switzerland.

“Hello Betty,” starring Sarah Speer, is about ambition, creativity, and a woman who overcomes the limitations of a male-dominated society. What started as a clever marketing idea became a cultural phenomenon, shaping the way the nation cooks and views modern homes.

Peter Reichenbach, producer of C-Films, said: “Everyone in Switzerland knows Betty Bossi. This film finally tells the story of the brilliant woman behind that name. A story with humor, heart and universal resonance.”

“‘Hello Betty’ is a rare combination of powerful emotional storytelling and commercial accessibility,” added Andreas Rothbauer, Managing Director of Picture Tree International. “It has all the makings of a charismatic female protagonist, a compelling true story, and appeal to a wide audience.”

The film will premiere on November 4, 2025 and will be released nationally in all Swiss language regions from November 20 through Ascot Elite Entertainment.

“Hello Betty” is produced by C-Films in collaboration with SRF Swiss Radio and Television, SRG SSR and CH Media TV AG, with support from the Federal Office for Cultural Affairs, Zurich Film Foundation, Cineforom, Loterie Romande, Stage Pool Focal/Ernst Gener Foundation and Swissimage, in collaboration with Ascott Elite Entertainment.
