Brandi broke the silence.
On Saturday, October 18, after she abruptly left the stage mid-performance and left her concert with Monica early in the morning, the 46-year-old singer spoke about the ordeal in an Instagram post on October 19.
“Thank you for the overwhelming love, support, and most importantly, your prayers,” Brandi began.
“I would like to sincerely apologize for the sudden end to last night’s show in Chicago. After weeks of non-stop rehearsals, last night I felt dehydrated and felt like passing out. All parties involved agreed that prioritizing my health was of the utmost importance,” she continued.
“Even though I wasn’t feeling well, I made the decision to come back and give my all. Some adjustments had to be made and the show was very technical, so unfortunately it was not possible to fully connect with the work acoustically. I really appreciate everyone’s best efforts,” the star added.

Brandy was performing with Monica, 44, during The Boy Is Mine Tour at Chicago’s United Center, but Monica left the stage and never returned.
Monica sang solo for the rest of the set, and the audience went home without hearing the duo’s iconic song, “The Boy Is Mine.”

Brandi thanked Monica for how she handled the unexpected situation, writing, “I am deeply grateful to my sister Monica for standing up with grace and professionalism, and to the entire crew for their continued care and support. I went to see my local doctor from the arena and took appropriate precautions moving forward.”
“Your understanding, patience, and unwavering faith means so much to me. I look forward to returning to the stage tonight in Indianapolis with my daughter Monica, stronger and more grateful than ever,” Brandi concluded her post.
Monica reshared Brandi’s recent remarks on her Instagram Story.

A video shared on social media showed Brandi leaving the stage mid-performance. “Hold on, I have to get mine…” the Grammy winner said as he exited the stage.
However, she did not return, and the audience at the time was not given an explanation as to why.
Brandy and Monica announced a joint tour earlier this year to commemorate more than 20 years since the R&B stars topped the charts with their 1998 collaboration.
“I think of this as something much bigger than just a hit record,” Brandy told Essence about the fan-favorite song earlier this month.
She added, “At that time, two young women came together and brought our voices and stories into one moment, and the world connected to this song in ways we could never have imagined. It’s such a blessing to see how that song connected with people all over the world, and continues to do so.”
