Jamie Lynn Spears criticized her sister Britney Spears’ parenting style and thanked Kevin Federline and his wife Victoria Prince for raising her and Britney’s two sons, according to Federline’s new memoir.
According to Us Weekly, Federline revealed in his upcoming book, You Thought You Knew, that Jamie Lynn is still in contact with his wife. The former backup dancer shared two messages that Jamie Lynn allegedly sent to Prince after Britney’s conservatorship ended in 2021, in which the “Zoey 101” alum slammed Britney.
In one message, Jamie Lynn allegedly reached out to Britney after she violently attacked her sons Jayden James, 20, and Sean Preston, 19, on social media.
“Honestly, I feel so much for those boys that it makes me want to cry,” Jamie Lynn wrote, according to excerpts from her memoir obtained by the media. “I’m her sister, 10 years apart. I can’t even imagine how her biological children feel sometimes, but I know how it feels to be a dingy trying to survive in the waves caused by someone else’s ship. Feeling like I have to save myself. I’ve always wanted her to get better, especially for the boys.”
“I’m still trying to come to terms with why she’s so oblivious to things outside of herself,” Federline said, adding that she also accused Britney of “inability” to be “accountable.”
According to the memoir, Jamie Lynn, 34, wrote Prince another lengthy message after the former Nickelodeon star thanked him for buying Jayden a piano for Christmas.
“I know I’ve said it many times, but it’s worth repeating: I’m so grateful to you all for raising me to be a respectful, appreciative, and kind child,” she reportedly wrote.
“Any parent who has actually raised a child knows that raising children is the hardest job on the planet. And while you two are raising those boys and their siblings, you have to constantly protect and shield them from so much turmoil that no one would understand unless they’ve been through that turmoil,” she allegedly continued.
Jamie Lynn also appeared to say that Federline and Prince have good reasons for not allowing Britney into their sons’ lives.
“My sister never once thanked you for raising our children and giving us so many opportunities to be involved in their lives, even though you had every reason to justify cutting them off,” she wrote in her memoir. “So we wanted you to know how much you are appreciated and supported by those of us who love those boys.”
Representatives for Jamie Lynn did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Jamie Lynn still seems to have a good relationship with her nephews. Last month, Jaden and Sean were reunited with their daughters Maddie and Ivy.
Maddie, 17, posted a photo of her cousin on Instagram and captioned it, “Senior night 😥😥.”
Federline’s memoir, published on October 21, contains bombshell statements about Britney, including allegations that she took cocaine while breastfeeding her sons and that she had an affair with a female backup dancer.
Spears fired back Wednesday, accusing Federline of “gaslighting.”
“The constant gaslighting from my ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,” the “Toxic” hitmaker wrote via X.
“I have always begged and cried for my sons to live with me,” she continued. “Relationships with teenage boys are complicated. I am depressed by the situation and have constantly asked, almost begged, for them to be a part of my life.”
The “Baby One More Time” singer also claimed that “one son” has only seen her “45 minutes in the past year,” and her other son has only seen her “four times in the past five years.”
“I have pride too,” the 43-year-old pop icon wrote. “From now on, I’ll let them know when I’m free. Believe me, the white lies in that book, they’ll go to the bank right away, and the only one who’s really hurt here is me.”
