Taylor Swift’s friend Gigi Hadid had a big night at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce chose to spend Wednesday away from the spotlight, cheering her on from afar. Neither the singer nor the Kansas City Chiefs players were spotted at the New York City fashion show.
Swift was last seen in Kansas City, Missouri, where Kelce was in the middle of the NFL season. The singer attended the game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, appearing on camera for the first time this season. He is scheduled to play again this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
She also just finished a press tour for the release week of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Swift and Kelsea also did not attend last year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. In a backstage interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hadid explained the reason for the couple’s absence, citing Kelce’s soccer schedule.
“If he has one more night before he goes back (to practice), I think they’ll probably be relaxing on the couch. That’s just my guess,” the model said. “But I have a feeling that she will be rooting for me (from a distance) as well.”
Swift has previously appeared at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, gracing the stage in both 2013 and 2014.

She’s also good at staying out of the spotlight when she chooses, and it looks like she’s doing that again this week. Swift recently told BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills that he is good at getting in and out of buildings without being seen. “Put me in a trash can, roll me around, I don’t give a damn. To be honest, all I can get in is my wallet. Sometimes I just can’t deal with it (the paparazzi and the attention), but then I don’t deal with it. I just dig a tunnel under every building I go into and airlift it in through a skylight.”
