Brittany Cartwright is a single woman again.

In October 2025, The Valley star confirmed they were no longer dating Brandon Hanson, nearly two months after going public with her relationship.

Cartwright and Hanson first began meeting after bonding over their respective divorce issues. Cartwright teased to PEOPLE in August that he was in a new relationship, and a source later confirmed that “the new relationships happened at the same time because they’re both going through similar life changes.”

Hanson was Cartwright’s first public relationship since her divorce from Jax Taylor. The Vanderpump Rules alum got married in June 2019, but she announced they were separated in February 2024. Cartwright officially filed for divorce in August 2024, and the divorce unfolded in The Valley.

In April 2025, Cartwright told PEOPLE that she had been on “couple dates here and there” since her divorce, but hadn’t found a serious partner until she met Hanson.

“I have the right to have butterflies again,” she said at the time. “It’s sad because I just want someone to be nice to me. I just want someone to take me out on a date. It doesn’t even have to be fancy. Something sweet, something small makes my day.”

Like Cartwright, who shares son Cruise with Taylor, Hanson is also a father. However, he has kept much of his life private.

A source tells PEOPLE that Cartwright and Hanson helped each other get through their respective divorces.

A source said of Hanson, “Like Brittany, he is contemplating divorce and has been separated from his ex-husband for the past seven months.” “They reconnected after he had already separated.”

“They find comfort in each other as they work through their respective divorces and changes in their personal lives,” the source added.

While Cartwright is in the midst of divorcing Taylor, Hanson is considering divorcing his estranged wife Jasina Stanko.

After one of Cartwright and Hanson’s “date nights” was captured on a TikTok video, Stanko claimed in the comments section, “He’s my husband!!!” She added in another comment: “That man is married.” After seeing the comment, one user asked, “Did you date him too?” And she answered, “I married him. Do you know him?”

Cartwright took Hanson to the event.

Cartwright took Hanson as his date to Narwhal’s Late Summer Night Soiree in Los Angeles on August 21st. She teased her new relationship to people at an event, and when asked if it was serious, she replied, “We’ll see.”

The Bravo star explained that she has been “going through a lot” with her divorce from Taylor and is trying to focus on herself and her son, Cruise.

“I feel like I’m in a much better place than I was last year,” she said. “I want to focus on myself. I want to have fun with my friends, have fun with my baby (Cruise), and just do fun, positive things. The drama that I went through for so long in my life is behind me and I feel like I’ve grown so much and changed so much.”

Cartwright added, “That toxic situation I was in dramatically changed my perspective on everything. So I’m excited to just have fun and explore my new self. Let go of the dead weight, let go of the drama, and just enjoy my life and my family and friends.”

Kristen Doute expresses support for Hanson

Cartwright’s close friend and “The Valley” co-star Kristen Doute attended the same end-of-summer soiree as Cartwright on Aug. 21 and gave her nod of approval.

“She’s such an amazing person and I really admire her,” Doute told PEOPLE. “She’s dated other people since her ex-husband[Taylor]when she was single, but I don’t approve of them. They’ve been good, but not great. This person is so nice and so cool. There’s such a family vibe.”

Doute added: “He’s a father so it’s very easy. It’s very easy and straightforward.”

However, Stanko frequently posted TikTok videos showing Hanson still spending time with her children.

Cartwright confirmed they had broken up in October 2025.

On the Oct. 10 episode of the podcast “When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright,” Cartwright said that her relationship with Hanson “didn’t really last.”

“We were very good friends before we started dating,” she said. “It was kind of a whirlwind relationship. It came out into the public eye faster than we had hoped.”

She said she and her ex “still really care about each other”, but their responsibilities with their children and the three-hour distance between them meant their romantic relationship didn’t work out.

“We really cared about each other,” she added. “Hopefully we can remain friends, but I never thought that would continue.”
