Taylor Swift spoke to Ryan Seacrest about Travis Kelsey’s proposal, saying there are some moments that she always keeps private. The singer admitted that she is still figuring out how to ensure that “it’s just between us.” He also explained why he is reluctant to talk about his wedding.
Taylor Swift has spoken out about Travis Kelsey’s proposal in multiple interviews over the past week, detailing how he distracted her enough to pop the question by turning their backyard into a secret garden. She’s shared many stories, but never reveals everything, the singer told On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
“I share so much of our relationship with the world, so the moment it happened (the proposal), I felt like I would have it forever and it would always be mine,” she began. “We have a lot to share with the world…(because) we’re both very public facing people, and both of our career paths involve entertaining people.”
Although she and Kelsey have embraced the public interest in their love story, Swift admitted that she has yet to learn where to draw the line when it comes to what she shares. “We’re very relaxed in a way, but we have to. We have to find a way to make sure that what’s between us is there. And, thankfully, we have a lot of that. Especially in those moments, it’s always going to be ours.”
She added, “I remember everything (that happened).”
Swift told Seacrest that she and Kelsey kept the engagement news a secret for “about two weeks.” She’s also trying to be careful about how much she talks about her upcoming wedding. “Whenever I talk about my wedding, I get so excited that I want to talk for about an hour. But once I start talking, I just can’t stop.”
Overall, she said, “I’m very happy. Thank you for being excited for us, because we’re excited too.”
