MEGHAN Markle was spotted bursting into laughter while surrounded by a stoic crowd at a Paris Fashion Week show.
The Duchess of Sussex was sitting at Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2026 show at the designer label’s Paris headquarters when she had a fashion fumble on Saturday.
In a clip circulating on social media, the founder is captured, as ever, looking at the stylish display in laser focus, before his facial expression quickly turns to shock. She then lets out a fit of laughter while turning to her friend Markus Andersson, who remains stoic.
She notices her friend’s composure and covers her mouth with her hand to prevent onlookers from catching her laughing. Markle then turns her attention to the show with a straight face.
It’s unclear what caused Markle’s hilarious laughter, but some people believe she was reacting to a model tripping on the runway. However, Page Six understands that this claim is not true.
Following the show, Mail editor Charlotte Griffiths on Sunday claimed Markle “started laughing” after the model tripped.
“At one point,[Markle]was sitting in the front row and a model tripped. She started laughing. And she obviously realized that was pretty cruel, so she covered it up,” Griffith said.
However, the outlet could not confirm that the model fell during the show, and Markle’s rep denied that she laughed at the model. Additionally, no video evidence has surfaced to back up the claims.
Nevertheless, fans flooded social media with speculation about the “Love, Meghan” host’s reaction.
“Leave it to Meghan Markle to laugh when a model walks a Balenciaga show and travels,” wrote one person on X alongside a video of the awkward moment.
“Meghan Markle was caught smiling as the model (who) ran out on the runway,” a second claimed.
“The model who stumbles at a famous fashion show is repentant, but as a narcissist, she lacks empathy and laughs at her,” the critics weighed.
Markle’s attendance at the Balenciaga show marked her debut at Paris Fashion Week. (She previously attended Toronto Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week before marrying Prince Harry in 2018.)
The former “Suits” actress, 44, came out in support of her close pal Pierpaolo Picciilli, who became the fashion house’s creative director in July.
“Over the years, the Duchess has worn many Pier Paolo designs,” her spokesperson told People on Saturday. “They work closely together to collaborate on the design of key moments on the world stage.”
They said Markle “has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different.”
The mom-of-two looked effortlessly chic in an all-white ensemble by the brand.
