Usher’s fans chimed in as they were kicked off the stage, clearly uncomfortable with his mesmerizing dance moves.
Gabrielle Cheyenne wrote in a Facebook post that Usher’s team moved her and her mother, Tia Byrd, to the VIP section before she took the stage at the singer’s concert in Nashville, Tennessee, last Friday.
“First of all, no one refuses to go on stage,” she wrote. “I looked so pretty, you think I wouldn’t let thousands of people see me?? On the big screen, where you guys never will??”
Cheyenne continued, “My mom and I had floor seats and their team approached us and moved us to VIP before the show started!! Pretty perks you’ll never know about!!”
This fan also claimed that Usher’s team did not tell her what she was brought on stage for.
“You guys wanted me to stand there and fuck him??” Cheyenne said. “Chat guys aren’t used to anything. That’s the most exciting thing that’s ever going to happen at your motherfucker’s show!! Shit, that’s rude.”
Cheyenne continued to defend herself on her Instagram Story, insisting that her behavior towards Usher, 47, was not “offensive.”
“You guys are not going to go on the internet calling me names, disrespecting me and expecting me to stay calm!” she further wrote. “Don’t think you guys are trying to bully me about the experience you guys didn’t get!”
Cheyenne detailed the debacle in an interview with Chris Brown’s backup dancer Lance Sabari, and clarified that there is “no bad blood” towards Usher.
“I don’t feel close to him,” she said. “I just stood on stage.”
Additionally, Cheyenne said she wasn’t intimidated by the crowd because she was distracted by the “Yeah!” singer on stage.
“You’re not paying attention to it. Usher is right in front of me. That’s what I see,” she shared. “Everything else gets drowned out.”
Additionally, Cheyenne’s mother addressed the debacle on Facebook, sharing a photo of Cheyenne with Usher’s wife Jennifer Goicoechea at the concert.
“Usher’s wife and Gabrielle Cheyenne are angry because she’s not angry after her stage appearance,” Byrd wrote.
In a moment that became a hot topic at Usher’s concert, when Usher started singing to Cheyenne and tried to make her lie down on a bed on stage, Cheyenne looked painfully uncomfortable.
“Maybe she doesn’t want to be on stage?” he asked the audience.
Eventually, Usher pulled away from Cheyenne and waved his hand back toward the stage, motioning for her to get off.
The awkward moment, however, prompted boos from some in the audience.
Usher is currently on an R&B tour with Chris Brown that began on June 26th.
Their next show is Tuesday in Birmingham, Alabama.
