Tina Fey has said she has “nothing to do with” Timothée Chalamet after he was accused of “manspreading” while she was sitting next to him at a New York Knicks game last month.
“I received (sent) so many memes,” the comedian joked on Wednesday’s episode of Travis Kelsey and Jason Kelsey’s podcast “New Heights.”
“First of all, Timothée Chalamet was just so nice and so friendly. And it wasn’t until the next day that I saw this kind of humanizing,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum added.
“Remember,” she continued. “While he’s sitting like this and spreading out, I’m doing the opposite.”
Fay, 56, explained, “I have a big can. So, as Amy Poehler would say, ‘God is fair.'” Timothy’s feet took the front, and my big old can followed.
“Everything went well and the Knicks won, so everyone was happy,” she exclaimed.
Fey was photographed sitting next to the “Dune” actor, 30, and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the New York-based team’s April 28 NBA game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Social media users went wild over the image, with one joking that she was “giving up her middle seat on the plane”.
Another tweeted: “Timothée Chalamet, if you don’t stop spreading the word about Tina Fey I swear to God.”
A third party teased that the tightly squeezed pair resembled a “7 a.m. L train.”
It’s no secret that Chalamet is a member of the Knicks super fan club, and the Oscar nominee continues to appear in the front row to support his team’s playoff run, even skipping his Met Gala date night with Jenner, 28, to watch the game.
On Monday, he and the reality star twinned in Knicks throwback merchandise while watching their NBA team defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
With this victory, they won all four games and the Knicks made it to the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years.
