Kareem Rahma, comedian, musician and host of the viral social media series “SubwayTakes,” has signed with UTA for all-around representation.
The agency, which has seen significant growth in its creator division over the past two decades, will work to secure opportunities for Rama through digital media, filmed entertainment, brand partnerships and more.
The deal comes as part of Rahma’s recently launched new YouTube series, Keep the Meter Running, in which he follows taxi drivers around New York to their favorite spots around the city during long nights.
Egyptian-born Rahma reaches more than 4.5 million followers across platforms, and his most famous project is “SubwayTakes.” It’s an interview series filmed on New York City trains where people offer their hottest opinions into microphones clipped to Metrocards. The show has become a regular spot on many celebrity press tours and regularly goes viral and generates buzz on social media. Recent A-listers who have visited the show include Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ethan Hawke, Charlie XCX, Austin Butler, the late Jane Goodall, and more.
Rahma is an actor whose credits include Peacock’s “Poker Face” and the feature film “Ol Something,” which he wrote and produced. His producing work spans films such as “Caterpillar” and “Ferguson Rising.”
If the hyphen wasn’t enough, Rama is also the frontman of an indie rock band called Tiny Gun. The band will release their second EP, Please Respond, on June 26th.
Rama continues to be managed by Underscore Talent and the Yorn Levine law firm.
