Stephen Colbert said actress Michelle Williams “didn’t know what to do with my eyeballs” when she first appeared on The Late Show in 2019.
The comedian revealed on Wednesday’s episode of the “Strike Force Five” podcast he co-hosts with four other late-night hosts that he was “deeply attracted to” the “Dawson’s Creek” alum.
“Was there ever a guest who was distractingly attractive?” co-host Jimmy Kimmel asked Colbert.
Colbert, 62, responded, “I’ll tell you who I never expected to be so attracted to.” “In the same way, I didn’t know what to do with myself. When Michelle Williams first came on, I didn’t know what to do with my eyes.”
“She sat across from me, and I was like, ‘Whoa, what’s going on with my head? I better not look directly at her this whole interview,'” he continued.
The former “Colbert Report” host, who is bidding farewell to “The Late Show” next Thursday, went on to guise about the “Dying for Sex” star’s “vibe” and “face,” as she finds her “very beautiful.”
Williams, 45, first visited “The Late Show” in April 2019 to promote her miniseries “Fosse/Verdon.”
The last time she went on Colbert’s late-night show was in April 2025 to talk about her Golden Globe-winning Hulu series “Dying for Sex.”
Representatives for Williams did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
But The Greatest Showman star wasn’t the only big star who caught Colbert’s attention during his 11 seasons hosting the CBS late-night show. He also named stunners Rachel Weisz, Rebecca Ferguson and Andrew Garfield.
“I used to have a Rachel Weisz problem,” he told podcast co-hosts Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and John Oliver about the 56-year-old actress.
“When Rachel Weisz was on, I was leaving the building because I was afraid I’d say something stupid,” Colbert said.
As for Garfield, 42, Colbert couldn’t help but bring up the time they shared an intimate kiss on an episode of The Late Show in January 2017.
“Andrew Garfield, he’s so hot,” Colbert laughed, before Kimmel interjected, “And you kissed him!”
“Or he kissed me,” the former Comedy Central star replied. “We did put our hands in each other’s hair. It felt really good.”
Colbert, Fallon, Kimmel, Meyers and Oliver all came together for a new episode of the “Strike Force Five” podcast in honor of Colbert’s final “Late Show” episode.
This popular late-night program started in September 2015 and will air its final episode on May 21st.
