‘Shark Tank India’ Season 6 launches parrot campaign on SonyLIV

As Shark Tank India kicks off its sixth season of entries on streamer SonyLIV, it has announced #DontBeATota, a campaign targeting founders who mistake the word entrepreneurship for its essence.

This campaign begins the moment terms like valuation, burn rate, and EBITDA become everyday parlance. It poses a pointed question: Is the language of entrepreneurship starting to overshadow business itself? #DontBeATota asserts that belief, execution, resilience, and a grasp of the basics are more important than sophisticated use of buzzwords.

The campaign’s mascot is Tota the parrot, who believes he can impress the Sharks simply by reciting barely understandable startup jargon. This character is built around simple contrasts. Anyone can memorize the terminology of entrepreneurship, but only founders who understand their business can actually build entrepreneurship.

“If repeating a startup’s buzzwords was enough to build a business, we would all invest in Aum. That’s the idea behind this campaign,” said Aman Gupta, shark from Shark Tank India, co-founder of boAt and founder of Off/Beat. Over the years, ‘Shark Tank India’ has helped make entrepreneurship part of the mainstream conversation, and that’s something we’re very proud of. But starting a company is never about sounding like an entrepreneur, it’s about solving a problem.” These are exactly the kind of founders we’re looking forward to seeing in Season 6 who solve real problems, understand the business inside out, and demonstrate the resilience to continue building every day. ”

Founders can now submit entries for the new season through SonyLIV, and the network is seeking applicants who can demonstrate true belief and clear understanding of their business.

The Script Room designed and produced the campaign.
