Prime Video will world premiere ‘Vadandi – The Mystery of Mani’ in August this year, the streamer has revealed, bringing back the original Tamil suspense thriller franchise for a second season.
Andrew Lewis, who produced and wrote the first season, will return to write and direct season two, with Pushkar and Gayatri overseeing the project as creative producers under their Wallwatcher Films banner. Over eight episodes, M. Sasikumar plays SI Moosa Raza, a law officer who is at odds with political pressure, media attention, and his own weaknesses in his search for answers. Yashwanth, Anagha Marsola, Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, Revathy Sharma and Arjun Nandakumar round out the cast in important roles.
Set in Madurai, the season continues the series’ consistent thread of rumor and reality, weaving the story of the investigation through the culturally rich backdrop of the Jallikattu festival. The case begins when a skeletal remains surfaces during a ceremony to mark the start of a highway project, and this discovery prompts Moosa Raza to begin tracking an elusive prisoner named Mani.
The series will be available to stream worldwide from August 7th on Prime Video, with dubbing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and subtitles in 15 languages, including English.

Founded by Pushkar and Gayatri, Wallwatcher Films has previously produced both seasons of ‘Suzhal – The Vortex’, the series’ first season ‘Vadhandhi – The Fable of Velonie’, the series ‘Exam’ for Prime Video, the short ‘The Mask’ and the Netflix feature ‘Aelay’.
