The courtroom was filled with three new actors joining the Season 2 cast of Rainmaker.
Richard Kind joins the USA Network legal drama as Larry Shifflett, the father of Deck Shifflett, played by PJ Byrne. Kevin Ryan reprises his role as Liam Donnelly, a corporate vice president with a secret agenda against Rudy and Dec. And Asher DeLand reprises his role as Victor Suffredes, a tough but good-natured boy with a troubled past. Victor is sent to a juvenile detention facility and is portrayed as a “victim of the system” who asks Rudy Baylor for help fighting back.
Based on John Grisham’s 1995 novel of the same name, The Rainmaker tells the story of Rudy Baylor, a young lawyer who is fired from his White Shoes firm and ends up joining a small group of ambulance chasers and not-so-honest paralegals working at a former restaurant. Rudy files a compelling wrongful death lawsuit and faces his former employer in court.
Season 2’s logline reads, “Rudy, Deck, and Bruiser face enemies old and new in situations where the lives of hundreds of children are at stake and winning is just as dangerous as losing.”
“Rainmaker” Season 1 starred Milo Callahan, John Slattery, Lana Parrilla, Madison Iseman, Byrne, and Karen Bryson. Previously announced cast members for season 2 include Merle Dandridge and Austin Nichols. The show is produced by Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television.
Kind is repped by Innovative Artists and Forster Entertainment. Ryan is repped by Ruth A. Young of United Agents in the UK, managed by Deanna Russo Clark of Entegrity International, David Unger of Artist International Group, and Cynthia Booth of Arise Artists Agency in the US, while DeLand is repped by Protege Entertainment, a Coast to Coast Talent Group.
