Michelle Huisman, whose credits include “Game of Thrones,” “Rebel Moon” and “The Flight Attendant,” has joined the cast of NBC’s upcoming drama pilot “What the Dead Know,” directed by Dick Wolf.

In the project, Houseman will play William Grant, who is described as “an experienced NYPD homicide detective. William believes in simple justice and thinks in black and white.” Houseman will star opposite Taylor Schilling, who plays the lead role of Death Investigator Eva Ledger.

The logline for What the Dead Know, based on the memoir of the same name by former New York City Coroner Barbara Butcher, is: “Reaper Detective Eva Ledger (Schilling) is very good at working with corpses. It’s the living who are tormenting her. What the Dead Know follows Eva as she teams up with the New York City Police Department to solve its toughest cases.”

Huisman’s recent work includes “The Abandons,” “Mayfair Witches,” “Echo 3,” and the serials “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire” and “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver.” He played Alex Sokoloff in the critically acclaimed first season of “The Flight Attendant,” appeared in the limited series “The Haunting of Hill House,” and played Daario Naharis on “Game of Thrones.” He has previously appeared in “Orphan Black” and “Treme.”

“What the Dead Know” is written and executive produced by Beth Reinhart. Wolf will executive produce alongside Tom Sayer, Peter Jankowski and Anastasia Puglisi through Wolf Entertainment, based at Universal Television. Fred Berner will direct and executive produce the pilot. Kevin Plunkett, Rebecca McGill and Butcher will serve as co-executive producers. Universal Television, with whom Wolf has an overall contract, will produce.

Huisman is repped by UTA, Conway Van Gelder Grant (UK), Authentic Talent and Peikoff Mahan.
