Martha Stewart is dividing social media users with her super simple take on deli-style potato salad.
The lifestyle guru’s Instagram account republished an old cooking clip on April 3, showing her preparing what she calls “the best potato salad.”
The simple recipe requires only six ingredients: two vegetables, two dressings, and two seasonings.
Ingredients are potatoes, 1 medium white onion, half a cup of white vinegar, and 1 cup of Hellmann’s mayonnaise.
Stewart also includes half a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of sugar to balance the flavor.
She first mixed the onions with white vinegar, salt, and sugar.
“Just pour this mixture over the potatoes and swamp it,” Stewart said.
“In about 10 minutes, all the liquid will be absorbed back into the potato,” she added.
“Add a cup of Hellmann’s mayonnaise to make a potato salad and start pouring the potatoes back and forth again.”
In the video, she gives her mother, Martha Ruszkowski, a bite and calls the salad “so good.”
Stewart identified the dish as a “deli-style potato salad.”
“I remember my time in Jersey City,” she said.
Opinions were divided on this recipe, with some saying the salad was too bland.
One Instagram user wrote, “Wait? Maybe I’m too Southern for this potato.”
Another commenter said: “Looks awful.”
Another said, “There’s a better recipe than this.”
Other social media users appreciated the recipe’s simplicity.
“I’m going to make this potato salad,” said a commenter. “That’s wonderful.”
“This is a great recipe!!! So delicious!” chimed in another.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Stewart for comment.
Stewart, considered an expert on all things lifestyle, is no stranger to food-related controversies.
Last summer, she weighed in on the long-running debate over whether or not hot dogs should have ketchup, declaring, “I love hot dogs, along with my work.”
Late last year, some social media users jokingly suggested that Stewart should be “back in jail” over his controversial bagel habit.
The media personality said she eats bagels open, cut into smaller pieces and topped with cream cheese.
