Mark Hamill has no interest in Marvel movies. The 73-year-old Star Wars icon spoke to Gamesradar+ on a press tour for “The Long Walk.” This means that Hamill is unlikely to return to La Luke Skywalker and La Luke Skywalker any time soon.
“The older you get, the less you worry about,” Hamill said of his acting career. “I told the agent, ‘I’m continuing to narrate, but I don’t enjoy the idea of going out and leaving my family.’ Because, in audio, it’s a four-hour session.
“I haven’t called my agent. ‘I have to star in a Marvel movie.’ I don’t care,” Hamill continued, noting that he recently discovered himself in a series of films.
“They provide me with ‘wild robots’ and I love animation. It’s in my wheelhouse,” Hamill said. “I started to fall asleep in my bed, the same as the “king of kings” that came out on Easter. However, “Chuck’s life, “I worked with Mike (Flanagan) at ‘Autumn in Usher’s House.” And I’m between Mike’s reputation and Stephen King, this would be the most supernatural horror epic of all time. That’s not a big deal. ”
Major’s role was the polar opposite of the heroic protagonist, so he signed “Long Walk.” The film has also been filmed in Canada. This is “a very beautiful country. In a way, it works because it is isolated. It’s away from home. It doesn’t handle books, toys, TV sets, etc., so I’m really committed to the materials I have at hand.”
Hamill revealed over the summer that he is considering retiring from acting in 2019 after completing his final outing as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at Comic-Con.
“I was thinking about this stage of my career: I spend more time with metal detectors, wandering the beach, playing with my dogs in my backyard,” Hamill said. “I told the agent, ‘What do you know? I’m not motivated anymore. I think I’m just going to retire and just call out to you.” And it was my agent and my wife who refused.
“The Long Walk” will begin at the theater at Lionsgate on September 12th.
