The cast of the TV series “Life is Strange” on Amazon Prime Video has been expanded.
Variety has exclusively learned that Tom Cullen, Leisha Hailey, Raul Castillo, and Owen Teague are set to appear on the show, along with previously announced stars Maisie Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins.
The show is based on the hit video game series of the same name. It was first reported that it would be installed on Prime Video in September 2025.
According to the official logline, the show will be about “Max (Hopkins), a photography student, discovers he can rewind time while saving the life of his childhood best friend Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a classmate and uncover the dark side of a town that ultimately forces them to make impossible life-or-death choices that will affect them forever.”
Karen will play Max’s teacher, Mark Jefferson, and Haley will play Chloe’s mother, Joyce Price. Castillo will play Chloe’s stepfather, David Madsen. Teague plays local drug dealer Frank Bowers.
Karen will next be seen in Season 3 of HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. His other television credits include “Downton Abbey,” “Trespasses,” “Mudtown” and “Black Mirror.” He has also appeared in films such as “Weekend,” “Black Church Bay,” and “Last Days on Mars.”
Haley is best known for her role on Showtime’s hit series The L Word and its sequel series The L Word: Generation Q. She has also appeared on shows such as “Silicon Valley,” “Bosch,” and “CSI.” She is an accomplished musician who co-founded the bands The Murmurs and Uh Huh Her.
Castillo previously starred in the critically acclaimed HBO series “Looking” and the premium cable network’s sequel film. He appears in Season 3 of AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City and has recently appeared on shows such as HBO’s Tusk and Hulu’s American Horror Stories. He has appeared in films such as “Cha Cha Real Smooth” and “Army of the Dead.”
Teague has appeared on both “Tusk” and “Black Mirror,” as well as shows such as “Mrs. Fletcher” and “The Stand.” Teague’s film credits include both “It”, “It Chapter 2”, “Planet of the Apes”, and “You Hurt My Feelings”.
“Life is Strange” is created by Charlie Covell, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mackenzie Doll is the scriptwriter and executive producer. Karin Kusama will direct the first two episodes and serve as executive producer under the Family Style production banner. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson will serve as executive producers through Story Kitchen. Jen Roskind and LuckyChap’s Dani Gorin and Natalie Berkus will also serve as executive producers. The series is created by Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap and produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
