‘Ladies of London’ pauses and reboots on Bravo

“Ladies of London: The New Rain,” which first aired on Bravo in March, has been temporarily suspended by the network. “On pause” is Bravo’s lingo, since the network rarely cancels shows permanently. Ladies of London: The New Rain is a great example of that philosophy. The original Ladies of London (de facto The Real Housewives of London, although not officially part of the franchise) aired for three seasons from 2014 to 2017, and Bravo announced in May 2025 that it would reboot the series with a new cast.

But in today’s high-pressure television environment, the fact that Ladies of London: The New Rain was canceled after one season doesn’t bode well for its future. At NBCUniversal’s upfront in May, Bravo experts pointed out that “Ladies of London” was noticeably absent from the network’s list of renewed series. Now that the show is officially on hiatus, it’s safe to assume that while Bravo’s content creators have fully embraced the show and its cast, “Ladies of London” hasn’t caught on with a broader audience.

However, what a wonderful cast it was. Lady Emma Singh, Martha Lady Sitwell, Mark-Francis Vandelli, Lottie Kane, Mrs Beqiri, Kimi Murdoch, Micah Meyer and Margo Stilley – most of whom had actually known each other for years – entertained viewers throughout the 10-episode season. Kevin Fallon of The Daily Beast called it “the best new Bravo show in years.” The New York Times got in on the action, running a profile of the quirky Sitwell (her magpie, Hecate, irresistible). “Ladies of London: The New Rain” broke new ground with the inclusion of Vandeli, a gay member of the female cast.

In a bizarre twist, Hayu, the British streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, launched “The Real Housewives of London” last fall as the streamer’s own brand new franchise. Neither Bravo nor streaming service Peacock are airing reruns of “The Real Housewives of London” in a second window, which should come as no surprise now. In his review of season 1 for Variety, Scott Bryan wrote that the show was “more fun and silly” and declared it to be “Camp Camp Camp!” Hayu has already been updated for a second season. (Cast member Juliette Angus is an American-based influencer who appeared in the original “Ladies of London.”)

Ladies of London: The New Rain is produced by BBC Studios. Ryan O’Dowd, Crystal Whitney, Craig Turner, Bill Fritz and Kathleen French will serve as executive producers.
