Josh Duhamel, 53, joked that he’s “too old” for his wife Audra Mari, 32, during an interview on his new podcast.
The “Transformers” actor spoke on Monday’s episode of his podcast “The HoneyDew with Ryan Sickler” about the couple’s 21-year age difference, specifically that his sister Cassidy is the same age as Mari.
“Cassidy came along and I was playing football at Minot State,” he said. “I remember looking up in the stands and seeing my mother and being shocked.”
Duhamel added, “So I was like, ‘Is mom pregnant?'” I’m 21 years old and she’s having another baby. ”
The “All My Children” alum recently said she was shocked by the couple’s age difference after seeing an old photo of her holding little Cassidy when she was 21 years old.
“I looked at the picture, looked at my wife, and said, ‘You and Cassidy are exactly the same age,'” Duhamel said with a laugh.
“Officially, I’m too old for you,” he quipped.
Duhamel noted that his wife and sister are “literally a few months apart in age.”
“I never thought of it that way until I saw that photo,” he said. “I was like, ‘Wait a minute.'”
Duhamel also jokingly asked Sickler if the age difference was a “highlight or lowlight” for him.
“It might be a highlight for you, it might be a lowlight for her,” Sickler replied.
Duhamel and the former beauty pageant queen married in 2022 after dating for about three years.
The couple has two children, son Shepard, born in January 2024, and daughter Rocca, born in April.
In a May 2025 interview on the podcast Not Thin But Not Fat, Duhamel said his relationship with Mari was initially “platonic” due to the age difference.
However, realizing that Mari is more “mature” than him, Duhamel decides to pursue her romantically.
“And that’s actually how we started dating, and it was great,” he shared.
Duhamel has a third child, 12-year-old son Axl Jack, with ex-wife Fergie.
The “Safe Haven” actor was married to the Black Eyed Peas singer from 2009 to 2019, and their son was born in 2013.
In a 2023 interview, Duhamel spoke passionately about co-parenting with Fergie.
“We both have the same priorities, and that is raising good sons,” Duhamel told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
