“The Daily Show” host Jordan Klepper heads down south to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary for his new movie “Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse.”
The segment, which will air on tonight’s episode of “The Daily Show,” features the host in New Orleans during Sail 250, a traveling maritime festival featuring ships and warships. Klepper roams the streets and talks to people about the current state of America and the current administration. Along the way, they spot people dressed in stars and stripes and a drunken man in a pirate costume.
“I give America a tall mug of decency,” the man told Klepper, holding up a metal cup.
“It doesn’t smell normal,” Klepper replied, and the man offered him a drink. Mr. Klepper declined, saying, “Usually we wait until after 5 o’clock to understand common sense.”
“Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse” is Klepper’s signature series on “The Daily Show.” Last year, he won an Emmy Award for nonfiction writing for the half-hour special “The Daily Show Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse: MAGA: The Next Generation.” His latest feature, “Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse: Give the Man an Award,” will be featured in this year’s ceremony.
Klepper is one of the few hosts on “The Daily Show,” which airs on Comedy Central at 11 p.m. ET. Michael Costa will host tonight, and other anchors will include Jon Stewart, Desi Riddick, Ronnie Chen and Josh Johnson.
