Jenny Mollen has revealed that she always struggled to feel “worthy and recognized” after her recent split from husband Jason Biggs.
In a new Substack essay titled “Don’t Tell Me What It Is,” the actress explained that since her sixth birthday, she has spent her entire life “in a hurry” and focused more on opening presents than celebrating parties.
“Every place I’ve been has felt a little temporary, like the waiting room you’re locked in before surgery,” she wrote.
The 46-year-old “Angel” star also said she wasn’t alive when her and Biggs’ two sons, Laszlo, 8, and Sid, 12, were younger, which she now finds “tragic.”
“When you’re young and ambitious, or just middle-aged with ADHD, it feels impossible to appreciate anything while you’re working,” she said.
Moren compared life’s “highest highs” to “pennies disappearing into a bottomless well” and admitted that she always hoped the next big thing in her life would be something that would “heal” her or make her feel “valuable and recognized.”
Near the end of her essay, Moren referenced her separation from Biggs, 48, and joked about her upcoming trip to Italy, saying, “Given the current state of my life, it feels very ‘Eat, Pray, Love.'”
“Actually, my friend invited me to a birthday party so I’m just going,” she added. “It also happens to be my birthday.”
Page Six confirmed on May 14 that Moren and Biggs had split after 18 years of marriage.
According to their publicists, the two remain on good terms and are focused on raising their two sons.
A source told the Daily Mail that the changes caused by Biggs’ weight loss and the “stress” of his job had caused a “wedge” in the former couple’s marriage.
The source added that if the exes hadn’t attended couples therapy, “they probably would have broken up two or three years ago.”
Mollen shared her last Instagram post with Biggs in November 2025.
“Totally friendly couple, not trying to seduce,” Molen wrote in the caption alongside a photo of the two actors.
Biggs and Moren met on the set of Howard Deutch’s 2007 film My Best Friend’s Girl.
They got engaged in January 2008 and eloped in April of the same year.
The couple renewed their vows in July 2008 in Napa, California in front of family and friends.
