Jenny Molen says her relationship with estranged husband Jason Biggs is “still romantic” despite their decision to divorce.
The comedian spoke candidly about her separation from Biggs in a clip from her appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, which airs in full on Tuesday. Host Amanda Hirsch pointed out that the exes’ breakup was “the end of the romantic part” of their relationship, but Moren disagreed.
“And it’s still romantic. We still love each other,” she claimed. “That’s different, I don’t know. This is a different type of romance. It’s like your best friend.”
Moren said her relationship with Biggs is “solid” and that they continue to be “amazing” co-parents to their two sons, Sid, 12, and Laszlo, 8.
Moren said it was “surreal” and “weird” to be single again after 18 years, but said she and the “American Pie” star would always be connected through their children.
“People would say, ‘What does it feel like?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know, is it the same?'” she recalled. “Even though we live in two different places, we’re still connected. We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedules and after school and holidays.”
“So this isn’t a normal goodbye, there’s an element of, ‘See you later!’ And then we might run into each other in 10 years and talk about it,” she continued. “That’s not true.”
Page Six confirmed that Moren, 47, and Biggs, 48, ended their 18-year marriage last month. I heard that there were rumors of a breakup for at least nine months before this news broke.
The Daily Mail reported that Biggs’ recent weight loss and “stress” from work had caused a “wedge” in their marriage.
“Jason has definitely changed since his post-weight-loss transformation. He’s lost a lot of weight, which has definitely helped boost his ego,” a source told the outlet.
Despite the breakup, it is clear that the ex-lovers are still on good terms. Earlier this month, a photo obtained by Page Six showed him leaving a restaurant in New York City arm-in-arm with his children as they ate.
Moren was seen helping Biggs, who was walking with a limp, and comforting Biggs, who looked like he needed a break from walking.
