Tim Roth, Sofia Carson and Kate Beckinsale are among the top talents scheduled to take part in the 9th Filming Italia Sardinia Festival, which will be held on the island of Sardinia from June 25th to 28th.
Ross, who most recently starred in Peaky Blinders and Seven Snipers, hopes his trip to Sardinia will be a celebratory one. Carson is likewise a multi-platinum-selling artist who has starred in five of the world’s No. 1 Netflix movies, including The Purple Hearts, Carry On, The Life List and My Oxford Year. Carson will next be seen in Wagner Moura’s The Last Night at the Lobster. Beckinsale, best known as the star of the action film series “Underworld” and soon to star in “Twilights of the Dead,” the final film in George A. Romero’s classic zombie tale, will also receive the award.
Led by marketing guru and festival specialist Tiziana Rocca, who also runs Italy’s Taormina Film Festival, the festival’s lineup includes summer Hollywood blockbusters such as “Toy Story 5” and James Gunn’s “Supergirl,” as well as “Tex McKenzie” It also features lesser-known American productions such as “My Horse Is the Only One I Trust” and is the first western co-directed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Ronn Moss. It’s on hand. Italian titles include “The Eyes of Others,” an erotic thriller directed by Andrea De Sica (“Baby”) and starring Jasmine Trinca and Filippo Timi. The film made headlines in 1970 for its depiction of a sex case set in Rome involving a marquis who murdered his wife and her lover.
As previously announced, Harvey Keitel, James Franco and Elsa Zylberstein are among other A-list talent booked to attend the fest.
Zilberstein, a producer and actress best known for her roles in the César Award-winning film “I Love You,” and most recently “Simone: Women of the Century,” is the president of the festival’s short film jury.
