This will be the first time Producer and former Academy Producers Branch Governor Jennifer Todd has produced the 17th Annual Governors Awards, and the first time she has produced the event. She takes over from Jennifer Fox, who has been producing the event for seven years.
Honorary Oscars will be awarded to actor Glenn Close, director Ridley Scott, and animator Floyd Norman. Producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler will receive the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
“I’m thrilled that Jennifer will be leading this year’s Governors Awards,” said Howell Taylor. “Her producing expertise will undoubtedly create a beautiful evening that celebrates the artistry of this year’s outstanding honorees.”
Todd welcomes the assignment. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to produce this important Academy event,” she said. “We look forward to honoring the remarkable achievements of these five artists with a tribute that reflects their lasting cultural impact.”
Over the past 30 years, Todd has produced a wide range of films, including Christopher Nolan’s groundbreaking feature film Memento, which earned him two Oscar nominations. Her credits also include “Boiler Room,” “Must Love Dogs,” “Prime,” “Across the Universe,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” and the “Austin Powers” series.
She is no stranger to the Academy’s famous broadcasts, having co-produced the 89th and 90th Oscar Awards with producer Michael De Luca. Both telecasts were nominated for Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Variety Special (Live) at the 69th and 70th Emmy Awards, respectively.
Honorary Awards are presented to recognize lifetime achievement, extraordinary contributions to the state of motion picture art and science in any field, or outstanding contributions to the Academy. The Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award is presented to a creative producer whose body of work reflects consistently high quality filmmaking.
The awards ceremony, in partnership with Rolex, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at Ovation Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom.
