Jennifer Lopez is gushing about her future burglary status.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday, the singer became emotional when asked about her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, graduating from high school.
“Don’t talk about it because[I’ll]start crying,” she told host Jimmy Kimmel, noting that she will definitely shed tears at the upcoming ceremony. “I cried for two months straight.”
Lopez said the teenager’s milestone moment really struck her when she wrote the note in her high school yearbook.
“When I said that, tears came to my eyes. It took me two days to write these things,” she recalled.
The 56-year-old singer also said the twins plan to attend different universities, but that choice is “okay” as she wants “them to be happy and go where they want to go and do what they want to do.”
She added: “We’re going to clean up their rooms here and take whatever they want to take with them to their dorms.
“Then they will realize that their dorms are too small and they will miss home,” Lopez continued. “I hope they want to come back soon. That’s my plan.”
The actress claimed that while she is sad to see her children move on, she is even happier that they are embarking on a new chapter.
“People have been asking me all year long, ‘Will it be terrible if they go to college?’ I’m like, ‘No.’ It’s going to be amazing,” she said. “They have great dreams. It’s going to be great.”
Lopez welcomed Max and Emme in 2008 with ex-husband Marc Anthony. The former couple was married from 2004 to 2014.
Back in February, the “Hustlers” star posted a touching tribute to her child’s milestone birthday.
“It was like God was leading you into a world filled with pure magic!!” she wrote via Instagram. “In my heart, I always thought your life would be like this!!”
“When I held you as a toddler, I honestly felt like I was holding two angels sent directly from heaven,” she added. “My life changed forever.”
“The words ‘I love you’ can never express the depth of emotion, love and care I have for you, my coconut. It’s always been the three of us!! We’ve been on this journey together. We’ve always held on to each other tightly and remained a steady presence through every blizzard. And I promise you, my beautiful coconut, no matter how big you get, it always will be.”
Last October, Lopez admitted that she was able to be more involved in her twin’s life after having an important conversation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“They talked to me and said, ‘You’re not a normal mom. You’re not here every day. You don’t pick up and drop off kids like other moms,'” she recalled on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2025, noting that her children were about 10 years old at the time of the talk.
The performers then “realized how much they needed me.”
