How ‘altered’ wording in Savannah Guthrie’s latest plea for missing mother hints at new clues

Savannah Guthrie’s latest petition for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, includes subtle wording changes that could signal new developments in the case, experts said.

“Most people will read this as another plea from a grieving daughter. That’s the first and last time. But something in the wording has changed and it’s notable,” former FBI agent Jason Pack exclusively told Page Six on Monday.

Pack said he believes Savannah’s words are “consistent” in that the family responds to something rather than “speaking into a void,” but noted that consistency is not the same as “evidence.”

“Only law enforcement knows if new communications have come in,” he said, referring to the unsubstantiated theory that Savannah posted the video in response to new ransom notes or messages.

Meanwhile, former CIA official Tracy Walder exclusively told Page Six on Monday that he believes Savannah “received another letter.”

“She’s answering specific questions, and she certainly mentions the fact that some type of ransom was paid,” Walder said, noting that Savannah said in the heartbreaking video, “We did our part.”

Puck also thinks that Savannah may be hinting at some kind of action with that line.

“It’s written in five words, but it’s not an accusation, but it’s like a receipt. It says what this family endured to the end,” Pack said.

Pack noted that Savannah has been pleading with her kidnappers to bring her mother back since her mother went missing nearly six months ago.

“This family has been begging for six months for someone to say, ‘Please take her home. Give her back to us. We’ll pay.'” This week, Savannah said, ‘Tell me where to look.'” he said.

“That’s a different request than any we’ve had before. Where to look isn’t the same as bringing her back. I can’t say what that means. This is her sentence, and she chose it.”

Pack noted that Savannah’s language when addressing viewers has changed again, saying that in an earlier video she was pleading with “anyone who owns her or knows where she is.”

“It reaches anyone nearby,” he said. “This week it’s narrower.”

Noting that Savannah said, “I know you were trying to do things the right way,” Pack noted that she seemed to be addressing “one person” rather than “many.”

“After six months, families may think they know more about who’s listening,” Pack says.

The “Today” show host, 54, shared an emotional social media video on Monday pleading for the release of his 84-year-old mother.

“We are in a never-ending nightmare. Nothing has changed for us,” she said through tears.

“We have done our part and we will never stop searching for her. We will always think of her and feel a hole in our hearts,” she continued.

“The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know you’re trying to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, please, do the right thing now.”

“I truly believe it’s never too late to do the right thing,” she said. “Please help us end this situation. We believe that for all of us, no matter where we have been or what we have done, there is always a way back. Make the right choices.”

Nancy was reported missing from her home in the Tucson area on February 1st. Days later, authorities released a horrifying security camera video clip of an armed and masked person outside Nancy’s Arizona home the night she disappeared.

Although several ransom notes are being investigated, no suspects have been arrested in this case.
