‘Hazbin Hotel’ has been renewed for a fifth and final season, Prime Video has announced.

The series, from creator Vivian Medrano and Bento Box Entertainment of A24 and Fox Entertainment, tells the story of Charlie, described as the “Princess of Hell,” who “pursues the seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons and peacefully reducing the overpopulation of her kingdom,” according to the logline. “After the annual extermination imposed by the angels, she opened the hotel in the hope that patrons would ‘check out’ to heaven.”

“We’re so grateful that Prime Video championed our vision for SpindleHorse, and we’re also grateful for their partnership and commitment to bringing ‘Hazbin Hotel’ to an epic conclusion,” Medrano said. “I’m really excited for fans to see how this story ends.”

“Since its inception, ‘Hazbin Hotel’ has pushed the boundaries of adult animation through bold storytelling, vibrant artistry and unapologetic heart,” said Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation at Amazon MGM Studios. “Vivian Medrano and her team have built an extraordinary world that captivates fans around the world, and we are thrilled to deliver an unforgettable final chapter to this series and its passionate community.”

“Hazbin Hotel” is based on the popular pilot anime released on YouTube in 2019. Medrano and Dana Tafoya-Cameron are both executive producers. Hazbin Hotel is produced by A24 and Fox Entertainment’s animation studio Bento Box Entertainment.

A new crime investigation film, “Private Eyes West Coast” (tentative title), has been picked up by The CW. The 10-episode first season, starring Jason Priestley (Wildcards) and Cindy Sampson (Supernatural), is set to debut on the network later this year.

Priestley and Sampson will both reprise their roles as Shane and Angie in the spin-off of Private Eyes, which ran for five seasons. The two have now quit their jobs at PI companies and are starting new lives on the West Coast. “But their new quiet life is shaken up when they stumble upon a murder scene on a night out,” the official logline reads. “A woman stands over her dead boyfriend, bloody steak knife in hand. Believing her innocence, Shade and Angie dive headfirst into the world of a high-stakes investigation.”

“We love what the Pillar/Segan team and showrunners/creators Jennifer Kasabian and Sarah Dodd have done to build the story of Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson’s Shade and Angie in Private Eyes West Coast,” Jocelyn Hamilton, president of television at Lionsgate Canada, said in a statement. “The CW is the perfect network to bring the next chapter of these beloved characters to our audiences.”

Private Eyes West Coast is executive produced by Sean Pillar, Lloyd Segan, Sarah Dodd, Jennifer Kasabian, Jocelyn Hamilton, Darren Giblin and Priestley. Dodd and Kasabian will serve as showrunners.

Matt Catrossard has been named executive vice president of global advertising and partnerships for Radical Entertainment, the company announced Monday. The company said Katrosar’s responsibilities will include overseeing and growing global advertising revenue, strategic partnerships, and the development of an integrated ad tech ecosystem.

“Radial has assembled an extraordinary breadth and depth of library that spans genres and generations, allowing us to connect advertisers with exactly the audiences and content they are looking for. This is a rare position in this market, and one that, despite the size of our business, we are only just beginning to monetize,” Jeff Schultz, CEO of Radial Entertainment, said in a statement. “I have had the privilege of watching Matt translate content scale into market share at CBS, Pluto TV and Paramount. Bringing Matt on board as a global advertising leader is the next step in Radial’s winning strategy.”

“I’m excited to reunite with Jeff at a company built for what’s to come,” Catrosser said in a statement. “The free streaming market is reaching full scale, and Radial has the platform, data and momentum to deliver to advertisers at a level this market has never seen before. My focus is on ensuring our advertising partners can take advantage of that market as soon as possible.”

Mr. Catrossard previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Advertising Sales and Strategy at Fremantle. He also served as vice president of sales at Paramount Global and joined Pluto in 2018, spending 18 years at CBS.
