Peacock, may I invite you to chat?
Love Island USA fans were left furious after the voting app glitched when they tried to submit their first votes for Season 8.
After episode 7 of the reality show aired, fans started voting to choose who the new Bombshells (Sol, Jen, and Caleb) would couple up with.
But as excited fans went to vote, some were shown an “error” message before they could share their dissatisfaction with the app on social media.
“The ‘love island usa’ app is down??? This is voter suppression,” one user tweeted.
“The ‘Love Island USA’ staff should extend the voting because people have to sleep and the app is still down. They definitely have the budget to upgrade the app or something. This is ridiculous,” another user added.
“This damn Love Island app is toying with me and I signed up for DAYS but as soon as voting started they suddenly kicked me out and won’t let me register for OMFG,” a third person complained.
“Love Island is one of the biggest reality shows in the world, but when it comes to voting, they can’t use their insane app properly. Very disappointing. We’re not going to deal with that this year,” a fourth netizen wrote.
A fifth fan joked: “What is Zoran Mamdani’s plan to fix the Love Island app,” referring to the current Mayor of New York.
Early Wednesday morning, the official X account for the popular reality show “Peacock” tweeted an apology to fans.
“For those of you who are having trouble registering to vote, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is actively working on this. Please stay tuned for updates. #LoveIslandUSA,” they wrote.
Hours later, the network announced on X that the app had crashed due to fans’ “overwhelming enthusiasm for America’s first vote.” However, voting had been extended until Wednesday at 3pm ET/12pm PT.
“Love Island USA” airs on Peacock every day except Wednesdays at 9pm ET.
