Madison Square Garden may be famous for its star-studded “Celebrity Row,” but it’s not necessarily the biggest names who can score courtside tickets.
Alongside Knicks-obsessed stars like Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Jordyn Woods and Spike Lee, there are plenty of ultra-wealthy sports fans who also wear tight outfits.
And Erika Jackowitz, co-founder of Roman & Erika and founder of Rave Travel Club, spoke exclusively to Page Six Style about how her team caters to the world’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals who are willing to spend big.
“We make it seamless,” she said. “There are airplanes, private jets, and sometimes helicopters involved. It definitely involves stylists.”
Securing your ticket is just the beginning. As Knicks fever grew, the process became prohibitively expensive. Jackowitz called the amount “groundbreaking” because the team hasn’t seen an NBA Finals game since 1999 and hasn’t won since 1973.
“We went to the ground and raised an option where the owner was having a private sale, and the owner was willing to sell for $500,000,” she told us.
Upon entry, there’s an implicit “Knicks Couture” dress code, which Jackowitz said often includes custom-made sparkly Hermès Birkin bags.
“Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game is different than any other stadium, even for a Rangers game,” Jackowitz said. “When you go to a Rangers game, everyone’s wearing a Rangers jersey. Everyone’s in full gear and the whole stadium is red and white.”
On the other hand, “With the Knicks, they’re not necessarily all wearing jerseys, right? They’re wearing real fashion and haute couture. They’re sitting courtside, their hair done, their bags coordinated, their shoes, jewelry, and everything that goes with it.”
London Jewelers is a go-to store for Knicks players, and Josh Hart once posed for the brand’s diamond-encrusted magazine. We also sell Ashna Mehta’s bijou bag charms. A 5 digit charm encrusted with diamonds.
Mehta offers a sparkling basketball hoop for $26,940, and celebrity fans who have commissioned custom charms include Mindy Kaling and Kylie Jenner.
“It’s one of the most-watched runways in the world right now. There’s no other runway in the world that’s watched as much as Knicks courtside seats,” Jackowitz said, noting that cameras were running for three hours straight to show off the outfits of those lucky enough to score “full” courtside seats.
“Please tell me of another runway with visibility comparable to or like this. I certainly don’t know of one myself,” she said.
And the fashion show doesn’t stop at the hardwood forest. Although there are still at least two games left, Jackowitz said he has already received inquiries from customers about ordering custom jewelry to commemorate the Knicks’ potential championship win.
