The remains of former child star Davey Chase have been handed over to his mother, Kathy Chase, following his tragic death last month.
The Post, which first exclusively reported the news, said the late Lilo & Stitch star’s death certificate revealed that her body was cremated, her ashes given to her mother, and her final resting place at Kathy’s Chatsworth, Calif., home.
The certificate listed Davey’s occupation as “actress/vocal artist” even though she had not worked in years.
The actress passed away on June 16th at the age of 35. Meningitis and a blood infection caused his body to become septic and he eventually stopped working.
Her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, announced her death. He also set up a GoFundMe in the lead up to her death, asking people to help the voice actress “find solace and peace” in her final days.
It was later revealed that Davey’s cause of death was AIDS, with chronic polysubstance abuse as the underlying condition.
‘The Ring’ star was said to have fallen victim to drug addiction towards the end of his life and was living on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles.
After news of her death broke, John Ryan, Ms. Chase’s longtime manager of more than a decade, exclusively told the Post that he and Ms. Chase’s sister-in-law, Gaia Brown, had been working together for a year with private investigators to track her down and get her help.
In late 2025, Ryan said he learned of a video that purportedly showed Chase, incredibly thin, struggling on Skid Row.
Shortly after Davey’s death, Kathy said she was “shocked” to learn of her daughter’s death, after spending much time searching online for any trace of her “ray of sunshine”.
“It felt like something inside me was squeezing all the air out of me, and at the same time it felt like I was exploding outwards,” she told the Daily Mail.
“I was just running, screaming like a guttural scream,” she recalled. “And a strange sound came out of me, like a primitive sound.”
She continued: “And I went out into the backyard and screamed, ‘No, no, no, no!’ I’m in so much pain, but I hope her soul hears me,” she said.
At the time of her death, Davey had personal property valued at $400,000.
Court documents reviewed by Page Six on Monday revealed that Kathy has petitioned the court to be named administrator of the estate.
