Dave Chappelle will be joining Netflix Is a Joke 2026 for three nights of shows at the Hollywood Palladium.
The streaming giant announced that Chappelle will take over the iconic venue from May 7th to 9th with a show that combines music and comedy. Tickets will go on sale April 29th. Netflix also released a teaser for Chappelle’s performance. It can be seen below.
Chappelle often fuses music and comedy, and frequently collaborates with artists such as The Roots, Yassin Bey (fka Mos Def), and John Mayer, among others.
Mr. Chappelle has had a long relationship with Netflix spanning nearly a decade. Netflix released four stand-up specials directed by Chappelle in 2017 alone: “The Age of Spin,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “Equanimity,” and “The Bird Revelation.” These releases mark Chappelle’s first publicly aired special since 2004. Since then, he’s released five more specials on the streamer, including “Sticks & Stones” and most recently, “The Unstoppable.”
Netflix also famously stood by Chappelle amid controversy over jokes he made about transgender people in his stand-up act and on several specials. Mr. Chappelle has repeatedly maintained that he is not transphobic, recently telling NPR’s Newsmakers host Michelle Martin that he was “offended that the Republican Party would go for transgender jokes. You know, I felt like they were a weaponized version of what I was doing. That’s not what I was doing.”
“Netflix Is a Joke” will run from May 4th to May 10th, with more than 350 events scheduled across Los Angeles. In addition to Chappelle, the lineup includes roasts of Kevin Hart, John Mulaney at the Hollywood Bowl and Katt Williams at the Intuit Dome.
