Brandon Sheets celebrated his father Darrell Sheets’ birthday just weeks after the Storage Wars star passed away suddenly at the age of 67.
Brandon captioned a photo montage with Darrell, “Happy birthday @darrellgambler, thank you for making me the person I am today…I wish we could spend just one more day together,” and added ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid” to the soundtrack.
She added, “I love you dad, happy birthday from May 13, 1958 to April 22, 2026.”
Ahead of his father’s special day, Brandon, 42, shared a video clip on his Instagram Stories of his family singing “Happy Birthday” to his father while walking through a pond.
“I know it’s early but I always called the night before…” Brandon wrote above the clip. “Happy birthday, Big-D.”
Brandon was his father’s co-star on A&E’s long-running series from 2010 to 2016. Darrell continued to appear on the series until 2023.
Darrell was found dead in his home in Lake Havasu, Arizona, on April 22nd. Darrell died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to a press release from the Lake Havasu Police Department.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was turned over to the Mohave County Coroner’s Office for “further investigation.”
Darrell’s “Storage Wars” co-stars, including Rene Nejoda, came forward in the hours after Darrell’s death, addressing claims that he had been the target of cyberbullying before his death last month.
Lake Havasu Police Department PIO Sergeant Kyle Ridgway told Page Six in April that investigators were “aware of the cyberbullying accusation” and that it was “part of an active investigation” into the reality star’s death.
In a statement released earlier this month, authorities said police were analyzing Sheets’ cellphone as they continued to investigate the cyberbullying allegations.
Brandon and Darrell’s ex-wife Kimber Wuerffel mourned the Storage Wars star’s death on social media earlier this month.
“Darrell gave us so many laughs, connections, and moments of life,” Wuerfel wrote in part. “May the memories you have of him be close to your heart, and may my memories be with me forever.”
In addition to the merry-go-round of snapshots with Darrell, Brandon also acknowledged the death of his father.
“My heart is so broken…I love you dad. I will do my best to live in honor of him and honor our family,” he wrote earlier this month.
“Let’s all continue to make memories and keep the legacy of ‘Darrell (The Gambler) Sheet’ alive. I can’t answer your questions or concerns right now, but I think we all just need time to process and remember all the good things about my dad and will continue to live on through my son and me.”
She added, “The love we all have for this man and his kindness is only a small part of who he really is.”
