Cody Simpson says he can’t “walk or talk” after sustaining the horrific double injury.
“The universe is helping me this year! Here’s an update on how I’ve been doing. I’ve been on and off from my voice for almost 3 months to heal my damaged vocal cords,” she wrote on Instagram on Monday.
“I decided to have surgery to help my recovery, but I dislocated my knee while rehearsing for a new music video and had to postpone the surgery to let my knee settle,” Simpson added.
“I won’t be able to walk or talk for a while, and I won’t be able to sing or dance for the next few months.”
The 29-year-old former competitive swimmer said he has continually “pushed” his body and mind over the years.
“I’m taking the time to reflect and understand what this is all about: forced rest,” he wrote.
“The album and live shows will have to wait, but I have work to share while we count down. You can’t hold me down! I’ll be back stronger ❤️,” Simpson concluded.
The “La Da Dee” singer shared an image of herself walking with crutches and also shared a video of herself falling and hurting her leg during rehearsals.
He also posted footage of doctors telling him he would need complete vocal rest for several weeks.
Despite the injury, Simpson said it was a “silver lining” that he was able to finish a few singles before getting injured.
In May, Simpson revealed that he suffered a hemorrhage on one of his vocal cords while recording a new song.
The ‘Surfers Paradise’ crooner said the injury was caused by him being “too eager to sing in the studio while suffering from a sinus infection that I didn’t know I had”.
Simpson said she believed she was feeling fatigued and kept going to the studio until she could no longer sing.
