Cinespia will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026 with a new screening of classic films, kicking off the summer season with titles such as “E.T.” and “Moulin Rouge” at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. And “Mulholland Drive.”
The long-running outdoor screening series from Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video begins its commemorative season over Memorial Day weekend. “ET” will be shown in theaters starting May 23, followed by “Moulin Rouge.” “Mulholland Drive” was held on May 24th and “Mulholland Drive” on May 30th, all held at the cemetery’s Fairbanks Lawn.
Founded by John Wyatt in 2002, Cinespia began with a single screening of “Strangers on a Train” and has since grown into one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious film events, drawing up to 4,000 attendees a night. The series has expanded beyond Hollywood Forever to venues such as the Greek Theatre, the Los Angeles Theater and the Rose Bowl.
“Turning 25 is both surreal and incredibly meaningful,” Wyatt said in a statement. “What started as a simple idea to watch great movies with others in a unique setting has grown into something much bigger.”
The series is known for combining film screenings with live DJ sets, themed programs and large-scale audience experiences, and has become a staple of the city’s summer cultural calendar.
In addition to the commemorative programming, Cinespia has partnered with See’s Candies to commemorate the company’s 105th anniversary and the series’ 25th season anniversary by releasing a limited edition co-branded box available only at the screening. Additional titles for the 2026 lineup will be announced at a later date.
