Vivienne Jolie Pitt, the daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has filed a petition to have “Pitt” legally removed from her last name.
Vivian, 18, has filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court asking to change her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.
Marcheline Bertrand is the name of Jolie’s late mother, who passed away in 2007 after battling ovarian and breast cancer.
In court documents obtained by Page Six, Vivian cited the reason as “personal.”
During the filing, a source exclusively told Page Six: “This is complete and utter parental alienation. It is gross, intentional, unnecessary, and only serves the interests of parents who take perverse pleasure in removing another caring parent from their children’s lives.”
A source previously said: “If Brad stays away from his children, it’s because of the harm he’s caused. They’re adults now and they’re making their own decisions, and that should be respected. If he chooses to distance himself from Brad, it’s because of the pain and harm.”
The filing marks the latest development in a family feud that has been developing for years since Pitt and Jolie’s highly publicized separation in 2016.
The “Fight Club” star, 62, and the “Maleficent” actress, 51, finalized their divorce in December 2024 after Jolie filed for dissolution of their marriage in September 2016, ending a legal process that lasted more than eight years.
The former couple have six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivian.
Several of the brothers have already taken similar steps.
Shiloh successfully petitioned a Los Angeles court to have “Pitt” removed from his last name in May 2024, shortly after he turned 18.
Maddox also filed legal papers in May 2026 asking to have “Pitt” removed from her last name, citing personal reasons in court documents.
Before the application, he had already begun to use “Maddox Jolie” professionally, including credits for the film “Couture”, in which his mother starred, while working as an assistant director.
On June 9, Zahara filed paperwork requesting that her name be legally changed from Zahara Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Jolie.
Knox also appeared to distance herself from the Pitt surname before filing for twins.
As Page Six exclusively reported in June, the teenager used the name “Knox Jolie” on his high school diploma after graduating from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles.
At the time, a source told Page Six that Knox celebrated the milestone with Jolie, her brothers Pax and Zahara, and her twin sister Vivienne.
Vivian similarly did not reveal her father’s last name when she was credited as “Vivienne Jolie” on a May 2024 flyer for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which her mother helped produce.
Pax, meanwhile, remains close with members of the ‘F1’ star’s extended family, despite having a strained relationship with the Oscar winner.
“Pax is still connected to his father’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them,” a source exclusively told Page Six last month. “He recently went out to dinner with his family to celebrate the engagement of his cousin Sidney to Archimedes Jerome.”
According to sources, Pitt’s sister, Julie Pitt Neal, also attended the rally, along with his niece, Reagan Pitt, and numerous other relatives.
However, another source told Page Six that while Pax “still has a relationship” with her paternal relatives, she “doesn’t really have a relationship with Brad.”
Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
