From blurry lines to blurry vision.
BBC commentator Guy Mowbray mistook Farrell for fellow rapper A$AP Rocky during Sunday’s 2026 World Cup final.
In the viral video, the camera panned to the “Happy” host as he and his wife, Helen Lasichan, sat in a VIP suite watching the Spain-Argentina match inside MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
“I think that’s another name, Rocky or A$AP Rocky. I’m sorry,” Mowbray, 54, said on air.
A$AP (real name Rakim Mayers) was also in attendance at the game, sitting with his partner Rihanna one row in front of 53-year-old Pharrell and his wife.
Rapper Future and New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson were also in the same suite.
Elsewhere at the World Cup final, sports announcer John Strong mistook Matt Damon for Brad Pitt while announcing the match’s celebrity guests.
“Brad Pitt is among the fans here,” said a 41-year-old Fox announcer, before fellow announcer Stu Holden corrected him.
“That’s Matt Damon,” Holden interjects before the guys can laugh about Strong’s on-air gaffe.
As the camera panned to other stars, Strong told his colleague he would hand over to him to avoid the next mistake.
“I’ll leave the rest to you,” he said. “I got cocky the first three times and missed the absolute sitter, so I’m done.”
The “Odyssey” actor, 55, attended the game with his wife Luciana Barroso.
Other celebrities attending Sunday’s game include Blake Lively, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, Alix Earle, Dwyane Wade, Gabriel Union, and more.
A lackluster halftime show featured performances by Shakira, Madonna, Burna Boy, Justin Bieber and BTS.
Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 and won the gold medal.
