Banijay Germany, in collaboration with French immersive producer Lotchi, creator of “Luminiscence” and part of Banijay Live, brings the immersive experience “Luminiscence” to St. Michael’s Church in Hamburg.
Hamburg will become the third city in Germany to host the experience, after Münster and Nuremberg, which will premiere on July 2 and transform landmarks into “impressive landscapes of light, sound and history,” Banijay said.
Since its launch in 2023, Luminescence has attracted more than one million visitors worldwide, presenting immersive productions in the world’s most beautiful cathedrals, churches, and historic buildings in eight countries, including France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Brazil, and the United States. “Luminiscence” has been performed in more than 20 cities, and there are currently nine productions.
While maintaining its core business of television content, Banijay Group has diversified into live events and sports in recent years with great success. The Live Experiences and Other segment increased by 18.2% to €397 million ($465 million) from €336 million ($393 million) last year.
St. Michaelis’ Luminescence will feature state-of-the-art 360° projection technology, innovative lighting effects, original compositions, live music, and organ music from a regional ensemble of conductors, organists, and choirs. Singer Lucia Duchořová and organists Magne H. Dragen and Paul Fasan will be featured.
