From courtrooms to corporate hideouts. Despite being a huge sensation, casting for Season 2 of the popular prank show Jury Duty wasn’t as difficult as one might think. “This show was extremely popular and everything was relative, but we don’t live in a monoculture,” executive producer Todd Schulman tells Page Six of how he made “Jury Duty Presents: Corporate Retreat,” now streaming on Prime Video, a success. “It wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God, this is a needle in a haystack. There’s only one person who doesn’t watch this show!'” We’d like to solve that problem one day, but we don’t…

I am focused on my son and his safety, and I hope you will do the same for Taylor.” Dakota Mortensen, seen here, denied Taylor Frankie Paul’s claims after a video surfaced of…

Artists Equity announces the Writers’ Room program, an internal development initiative focused on fostering original screenwriting. The program invites writers to submit film ideas across a variety of genres, and rooms are opened based on the selected ideas. The script is then incubated with the goal and expectation of becoming a viable package on Artists Equity’s slate, with specific attachments and funding strategies. As part of the program, Academy Award-winning writers Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Eric Roth (Forest Gump, Dune) will provide regular feedback to participating writers. “The backbone of this company is collaboration with great artists, and that’s…
Anson Lo is one of Hong Kong’s most prominent entertainment figures, but he says he still feels small-minded. The singer and actor, best known as a member of the boy group Mirror and as a solo artist who won the Chill Club Male Singer of the Year Gold Award four years in a row, spoke to Variety on the sidelines of Hong Kong Filmart, and the image that emerges is one of a performer defined more by the pressure he puts on himself than by his accolades. “It’s great to be me, but it’s also a little challenging,” he says.…
