The Dark Horse comic book series “Dead Maul,” from Adam Cesare, author of “The Clown in the Cornfield,” is coming to the big screen. Production company Not the Funeral Home has optioned Cesare and artist David Stoll’s four-issue series into a feature film, Variety has confirmed. Variety has learned that a live-action “Dungeon Crawler Carl” TV series is currently officially in development at Peacock. The project, based on the LitRPG book series of the same name by Matt Dinniman, was originally acquired by Universal International Studios in early 2025, with no network or streamer attached at the time.
