Pixar’s latest hit movie, Hoppers, is coming to Disney+ soon. This family-friendly animated film will begin streaming on Disney+ on June 3rd.
“Animal lover Mabel seizes the opportunity to communicate directly with animals by using new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness onto a lifelike robot beaver,” the logline reads. “While making surprising discoveries, Mabel befriends a charismatic beaver and must rally the entire animal kingdom to counter humanity’s great threat.”
“Hoppers” also stars Piper Carda as Mabel, Bobby Moynihan as Beaver King George, Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry Generazzo, Kathy Najimy as Dr. Samantha “Sam” Fairfax, Dave F. The cast includes Ranko as Titus the butterfly, Eduardo Franco as Loaf the beaver, Aparna Nanchera, Sam Richardson, Melissa Villaseñor, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., and Steve Purcell. Ego Nwodim, Vanessa Bayer, and Meryl Streep as the Insect Queen.
“‘Hoppers’ is a cheeky piece of entertainment that signifies the cycle of life as the forest characters blithely accept their fate of being eaten,” wrote Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman. “At the same time, this film has heart and soul. It’s a timely theme that the only path to salvation is for everyone to work together with everyone else. It may sound like the message of ‘Kumbaya,’ but this film is ultimately about the complexities of togetherness.” It’s a rough roller coaster ride. Jon Hamm starts out voicing Mayor Jerry with an undeniable sternness, but his performance adds layers, and Piper Kurda gives Mabel plenty of motivation.” While it has a lot in common with Riley in the Inside Head movies, and while I wouldn’t put Hoppers on the level of those classics (or the Toy Story movies), it’s still a top-tier Pixar offering, and a reminder that when this studio fires on all cylinders, it can take you to places you never imagined. ”
The film was directed by Daniel Chong, produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, with original music by Mark Mothersbaugh, and a screenplay by Jesse Andrews.
