Manosphere influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by federal agents in Miami on Saturday afternoon, according to the Associated Press. The charges against the brothers were not immediately made public.
This is not the first time the Tate brothers have found themselves handcuffed. Back in 2022, controversial media figures were arrested by anti-terrorism authorities in Romania on charges of human trafficking and rape. According to the BBC, in 2023, Andrew and Tristan were formally charged with these crimes by the Romanian government.
Andrew Tate continues to deny any wrongdoing. “Since the beginning of the case, we have been completely innocent,” he told the media in 2023 after his release from house arrest. “We must have absolute trust in the Romanian justice system, which ultimately made the right decision and released us.”
According to Reuters, a Romanian court recently lifted all precautionary judicial control measures against the Tates while authorities conduct further investigations into their charges.
In May 2025, the BBC reported that the British Crown Prosecution Service had approved 21 charges against Andrew Tate and Tristian Tate, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. Andrew Tate faces 10 charges related to three alleged victims, and Tristan Tate faces 11 charges related to one alleged victim.
Andrew Tate first came to public attention in 2016 as a guest on Britain’s Big Brother, but was later removed from the show after a video surfaced that appeared to show him hitting a woman with a belt. Andrew Tate and the women later claimed the behavior was consensual. Since then, he has risen to internet stardom as a controversial hypermasculine influencer.
