A new film marketing and distribution company has entered the market called Aero Films.
The theater-first company founded by Warner Bros. veteran Ryan Pallas will launch with its first film acquisition, Steve Pink’s “Terestrial.”
“At Aero Films, our goal is to curate bold, individual films by filmmakers with unique perspectives and connect them with audiences through innovative marketing and distribution. We’re excited to release ‘Terrestrial’ as our first film. Steve and the filmmaking team have created an incredible mashup of comedy, suspense and science fiction, unlike anything you’ve seen before, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”
Jermaine Fowler, James Morosini, Pauline Chalamet, Edi Modica, Rob Yan, and Brendan Hunt star in this darkly comedic sci-fi thriller. It was directed by Pink (“Growth Point Blank,” “High Fidelity,” “Hot Tub Time Machine”) and written by Samuel Johnson and Connor Diedrich.
The longline in this movie is written as follows: A long-awaited reunion weekend spirals out of control for four college friends. An aspiring science fiction writer on the brink of sudden success, Host struggles to maintain his sense of reality, a struggle that becomes increasingly difficult when faced with otherworldly dangers.
“I’m excited to see ‘Terrestrial’ take off into the world,” Pink said. “We’ve made a movie about friendship, paranoia, ambition, and the very unhealthy human instinct to invite friends into your home and slowly lose your mind in front of them. And it’s funny. Which can either be a selling point or a cry for help. You should see it!”
“Terrestrial” was produced by Josh Jason and Molly Gilula of Hurley/Pickle Productions, Molly Connors of Pfeiffen, AJ Burscheid and Austin Lantero of Range Media Partners, and Chalamet, Rachel Walden and Luca Balcer of Gumi Films.
“We always knew Terrestrial was a film that should be experienced in theaters and with friends. We’re very fortunate to have found partners at Aero who share this belief. They want this film to be seen in theaters as much as we do, and that means the world to us.”
Founded with a clear mission to champion unique voices and distinct genre films, the company is committed to working with both established and first-time filmmakers, identifying films that push creative boundaries, and finding innovative ways to connect these films with passionate audiences.
The deal was negotiated by Range Select.
