The CBS telecast of the 77th Emmy Awards brought 7.4 million viewers on Sunday night.
This average is up 8% from 6.9 million viewers achieved at last year’s ceremony aired on ABC in September 2024, and 8% from Emmy, the most viewer since 2021.
CBS has two reasons to celebrate. Not only was last night’s show a success in ratings, but its previous peak in 2021 (7.4 million viewers) means that NBC, Fox and ABC were unable to beat it in the meantime. This year’s total is Nielsen measured CBS linear audiences and Paramount+ live streams. The company notes that live streaming views have risen 76% compared to 2021.
In addition to the Emmy Awards, the biggest audience attraction on Sunday night was the NBC broadcast of the NFL game between Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings, but the September football game wasn’t as fiercely competitive as the January playoff game aired in January 2024. Emmy, therefore a dramatic 54% increase achieved by the ceremony that followed eight months later.
Nate Bargatze held the 2025 Emmys Ceremony. Meanwhile, Top Honors went to “The Studio”, “The Pitt” and “Thousolescence” respectively. “The Studio” was the most won show of the year, bringing home 13 Emmys Totals. Check out the complete list of winners here.
