Gilmore Girls fans reunited with tonight’s Emmies: series stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham on the red carpet and introduced together on stage at the 2025 ceremony. (Deadline noted that the show was chosen to celebrate its 25th anniversary.) Bledel wore a strapless silver sequin Mulmar Halim gown, while Graham chose a black Akris dress with a flower cutout.
The pair, who played daughter and mother duo Lorelei in Gilmore Girls, has awarded outstanding writing awards for the comedy series, but stands on a front pouch designed to look straight from the stars. Prior to the award, they joked together at Gilmore. “Twenty-five years ago, a show called Gilmore Girls premiered, clearly marking the fall hostage season.”
Bledell added, “In spite of the fall domination, Gilmore was actually a very small show.” They then presented the studio as the winner of the category.
In the evening, Graham told the Hollywood Reporter that it was a joy to recognize the Gilmore Girls’ quarter century. “There was really nothing planned to celebrate the 25th (the anniversary of the series),” she said. “So, we met each other, so it’s not exactly a reunion, but it feels like a party we don’t have to honor the show like this.
In January, Graham spoke on tonight’s show whether she would be open to revamp her role as Lorelai again. “Yes. I always say ‘Yes.’ Because that’s the best part I’ve ever had,” she said. “And I loved doing it. It was the perfect material at perfect timing with the perfect writer, which means a lot to me. And I ‘I hope other adults are involved,’ while, ‘Oh, I’m just doing a show in the background.’
Meanwhile, Bledel told people in November 2022 about what first attracted her to the role of Rory. “I remember reading the pilot script and quickly identifying the character, which was very different from other young women on television at the time,” she said. “I’ll look at her immediately. That’s a rare case when you have something very well drawn that can connect to (it) like that.”
