The “The Conjuring” TV series, currently under development at HBO Max, has made a great stride.

Variety only learns from sources that Nancy Wong has boarded a project where she serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Additionally, both Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires are installed to write in the series.

HBO Max declined to comment.

The show was first reported in 2023 to be in development at HBO Max. The exact plot details remain under the rap, except for the fact that the show continues the established storyline in the “The Conjuring” movie franchise. Peter Saffron is still on board as an executive producer, produced by James Wang’s Atomic Monster. Warner Bros. TV is a studio.

The news comes days after “The Conjuring: Last Rites” premiered in the theatres. The fourth film in the “The Conjuring” franchise has become like a box-office gangbuster, with over $194 million so far.

The first “The Conjuring” film debuted in 2013. Film stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are stars as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who take on different supernatural cases. In addition to four major films, The Conjuring also produced spin-off franchises Annabelle and The Nun, which produced three and two films respectively. Collectively, the film totals around $2.5 billion worldwide.

Won’s recent TV writing credits include Apple TV+’s “Sunny,” “Tiny Beautiful Things,” “Little Fires Everywhere,” and Netflix’s Marvel series “Jessica Jones.” She is also known for her works in “Jericho” and “Supernatural” among several other series.

Cameron and Squire have been working on multiple Marvel projects in recent years. Cameron writes for special “The Night of a Werewolf” and shows such as “Agatha All Allowing”, “Moon Knight” and “Wandavision.” Squires has also written shows such as “Agatha All Allow,” “Wandavision,” and “Agent Elvis,” “Star Wars” series “Acolyte,” and “The Boys” companion series “Gen V.”

Won is represented by UTA. Cameron is represented by Verve, Untitled, Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Squires was first represented by artists Johnson Shapiro Thraewett & Cole.
