Singer D4VD made the headline after his dismantled body was found in his abandoned Tesla in a tow yard in Los Angeles.
Law enforcement officials found the body hidden inside the bag on the trunk of an electric vehicle on September 8th after workers reported a foul smell.
Investigators alleged that the car was towed in the Hollywood Hills area about five days before its discovery.
D4VD – Born David Anthony Burke was active on social media, all the way to his body.
The “Romantic Murder” singer is currently on his “withered” world tour, performing in Wisconsin the same day the discovery was made.
He is reportedly working with authorities, according to NBC Los Angeles.

I grew up listening to the gospel
D4VD grew up listening to gospel music, mainly while being homeschooled until he was sent to middle school around the age of 13.
“I discovered other music in middle school,” the “Leave Her” singer told The Outlet. “I think someone was blowing up the ‘Gucci Gang’ with Lil Pump, but soon (i) “Yo, what is that?”
“I started listening to everything on my school laptop,” he added. “And then I heard the first indie song from the Fortnite montage.”
A music career inspired by video games
Initially planning on becoming a professional gamer, D4VD jumped into hip-hop and indie music after being inspired by the music featured in the online video game Fortnite.
After he discovered the group’s 2013 song, “Seater Weater,” the neighborhood became one of his artistic inspirations.
“The first song I wrote was ‘Run Away’. It was a very slow song I was trying to understand my sound,” the hitmaker explained to Vman, referring to the 2021 track.
D4VD paired his songs with the montage, and in the end they began to gain traction.
One night success
Success quickly discovered D4VD, and his 2022 track “Romantic Murder” was placed on the Billboard Hot 100 after winning a stream of 75 million, the outlet reported.
At the time, the singer recorded songs on his iPhone, hiding in his sister’s closet.
“I have an odd connection to the studio,” he said. “I’ve made some OK songs. I’ve been to the studio three or four times and I don’t click in my brain. There’s so much technology that I’m overthinking the process.”

D4VD is currently in a specialized collaboration with Fortnite, releasing the official national anthem for the video game, titled “Locked & Loaded” in early September.

The pop star is collaborating with 21 Savage on the 2023 track, “Call Me Revenge,” and Kali Uchis’ 2025 song “Crashing.”
