Dwayne “Rock” Johnson has good reasons for his dramatic physical changes. That’s all for his upcoming role in the film Lizard Music, directed by Benny Safdi.
While attending the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, the actor discussed the need to lose weight after bulging out for the MMA film “The Smashing Machine,” which is scheduled to be released in October.
“I’m very excited because I have the opportunity to change again, as I can with the ‘smashing machine’. I can’t wait,” he said.
Johnson, 53, joked that his new meal consists of eating “low chicken.”
“This makes me slimmer,” he said, referring to his appearance. “In the process of slimming. I still have a long way to go.”
The “Baywatch” star turned his head when he arrived in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, and looked noticeably thin earlier this month.
Johnson was all smiling, wearing a blue-collar shirt and white pants.
Fans quickly shared their concerns via X, writing, “I hope he’s not sick because he looks very thin.”
“This isn’t something he has recently, even though. Six or seven months ago he was doing a raw jack. He didn’t lose much muscle that quickly.
“The rock has been turned into pebbles…” a third joked.
The “Jumanji” star saw his transformation again with fans while walking the red carpet of “The Smashing Machine” at the festival.
Johnson previously discussed transforming his body for the film, saying that “something (he) was really hungry,” according to a Hollywood reporter.
“I had a career I had over the years and I was very fortunate to be able to make the films I made, but there was just a voice within me.
Johnson is not someone who doesn’t know how to change his appearance and diet for his role. He also undergoes major transformations while preparing for his role in the 2023 superhero film Black Adam.
At the time, he went to social media and shared that “unlike other roles in his entire career, he’s doing very hard dieting, training and conditioning.”
