Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, set up a united front alongside daughter Poppy after winning the second Irish open title at the K Club on Sunday.
The sweet video shared with X shows that after the match, Stole brings five-year-old Poppy to his father, instantly wrapping the athlete around his arms and pulling his wife towards him for a kiss.
The three also posed photos cheerfully alongside McIlroy’s trophy in celebrating his victory with Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren, marking his first victory since the Masters.
Their gentle moment comes after the New York-born moment seemed “satisfied” after the Master won in April, when her husband hurried to hold her.
A body language expert told the Daily Mail at the time: “Lory appears to be overwhelmed and clinging, but Erica’s response appears a little more polite, restrained and tempered.”
Stoll’s cold attitude may have been considered suspected of his former flame, sports reporter Amanda Barionis.
“Seventeen masters started and attempted to complete a career grand slam and 73 over 11 years, but Rory McIlroy has a green jacket and solidified his legacy alongside Tiger, Jack, Gary, Hogan and Sarazen.
McIlroy, 36, filed for divorce from Stoll, 37, in May 2024, after seven years of marriage before the shock U-turn the following month.
According to the documents obtained at the time on six pages, Northern Ireland’s professional golfers were the ones who submitted to end the union in Florida.
His representative also said his desire was to “ensure that this difficult time is as respectful and friendly as possible,” and noted that “he will not make further comments.”
Sources later told Weekly that Stall was “sole from marriage.”
“Erica was usually away from most of his tournaments and was really focused on Poppy,” the insider added.
The former World No. 1 golfer was then discovered in the same month without a wedding ring and was then romantically linked with Barionis a few weeks after the divorce news.
Daily Mail reported when the duo was “Link Stories,” after people believed they noticed a close relationship between the two, but reported that the journalist and the four-time major champion only had “professional relationships.”
The rumored pair added a lot of fuel to speculation the following month after Barionis finished his camera interview with McIlroy.
With an astonishing twist, McIlroy canceled his divorce from Stall on June 11, 2024, despite rumors of a romance between him and Barionis.
“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is a shame. It’s a fool’s game to react to each rumor,” the athlete told the Guardian in a statement at the time.
“Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future is together as a family. Thankfully, we are solving the differences and looking forward to a new beginning.”
Since canceling the divorce, McIlroy is still under scrutiny about how he treats his wife publicly. In April, he was blown up for snuggling her with a Masters victory speech.
Several people criticized the champion for excluding Stoll from his speech, with one user writing, “I love the screams I get to his daughter… I’ll just have him admit his wife.”
McIlroy and Stoll first met in 2012, when they were working as PGA transport officers at the Ryder Cup. They initially started out as friends as he had an affair with Tennis Pro Caroline Wozniacki.
He canceled his engagement to Wozniacki in 2013, and the following year he secretly began dating Stoll.
The pair tied the knot in front of friends and family at Ashford Castle in Mayo County, Ireland in 2017.
