Creative Arts Emmys awarded Jimmy Kimmel the outstanding 2025 host of the game show.
The host won the award at the 76th Creative Arts Emmys, the host who wants to be a billionaire on Sunday, September 7th. In his acceptance speech, Kimmel recognized Regis Philbin, the original host of the series, reminiscing about his own first host gig with Benstein money, which he hosted from 1997 to 2000.
Other candidates include Elizabeth Banks for your luck, Steve Harvey for the celebrity family feud, and Ken Jennings have been put in danger! Colin Jost from pop culture Jeopardy!
In August, Kimmel returned to his roots and opened up about hosting people who want to be billionaires.
“I started as a game show host,” he recalled in an interview with Variety last month. “My first TV job was co-host for Ben Stein’s money at Comedy Central. In my first year, Ben and I won Emmy for hosting Best Game Shows.
“I think the only reason we were nominated is because there weren’t that many game shows on air,” said Kimmel, 57. “We had no idea or delusions to defeat Alex Trebek and Pat Sajac – we had no thoughts or delusions. We were excited to fly to New York for the Emmy Awards. And when we won, I made my Emmy with the best actress of all time, when you talk about losing stripes and when you tasted my Emmy.”
“So when I won, Ben was always talking, so we were the first time we were here and we said it was ridiculous that Emmy and Susan Lucci were sitting there. “I walked, she was in the front row, and I handed her my Emmy and went back to my seat.”
Kimmel – Jimmy Kimmel Live! And the outstanding game show for anyone who wants to be a billionaire this year was nominated for 24 Emmys and won three in the past.

Banks, executive producer of Press Your Luck, recently opened up about the challenge of holding a game show.
“It’s one of the hardest jobs, but I love it,” she admitted the 1983 game show in an interview with Variety last month. “But it’s very taxable. It’s a lot of tea and a lot of lozengen. Honestly, after the first two seasons I realized that I can only shoot two days, then I lose my voice and need a day off.
“I’ve been losing my heart and my voice with them,” she added. “So I really started to take care of myself back then. I keep a lot of energy behind the scenes. I do a lot of mindfulness, very zen in my hair and make-up chair, I go outside and go on stage with everyone.”
The bank has one goal left. 51 gives the competitor an elusive $1 million award. She said, “I dream of giving someone a million dollars. That’s our biggest dream. Trust me, we test cannons and confetti every season to make sure we’re ready.”
Banks won her first nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in 2025 for Outstanding Host of Gameshows in the Comedy Series category for her roles in Modern Family and 30 Rock.

Harvey, 68, scored another nomination for a celebrity family feud after robbing her nods in 2024 and 2023.
Last year, he shared a recipe for being a successful game show host during a conversation with variety.
“I think the key to being a great host is that you have to be elegant. You want to laugh at yourself,” he explained at the time. “But you need to know the line of how much you can push your jokes with the contestants. You can’t make the audience think you’re tough on them, but at the same time, you have to have fun with them.”
For Harvey, that means he “taked a game show and turned it into a comedy show.”
“Family feuds are a show about researching what 100 people are thinking,” he said. “We don’t mind what 100 people are thinking. We have Google, so we have YouTube. You can find your ideas. They gave us the room to do it in my way, so it’s not a question and an answer, it’s a competitor-host relationship. That’s pretty fun.”

Four years after Alex Trebeck’s death, Jennings, nominated in the same category in 2023 and 2024, revealed how he became comfortable, slowly, slowly, as he grabbed the reins of danger!
“Of course, it was very tricky after Alex passed away because we all missed him,” he told people that he would take over to Trebeck in April. “No one else saw anyone else hosting danger for nearly 40 years. It was a tricky adjustment and I didn’t want to be there.”
“I wanted Alex. He was like my guy, but I’ve seen him have enough of an internal sense of what he’s going to do here. That’s the only thing that really got over me.” “And a few years later, I got enough rep for him who felt a little more comfortable there.”
However, fans shouldn’t expect any major changes to the format of the show in the near future. Jennings said, “I think Ryan (Secret) has (Fortune) wheels right now, so there’s no big change in the watch. I’m a fan above all. I want to see the dangers I grew up with.”

Jost, 43, admitted that there is some nerve to hosting the dangers of spinoff pop culture! About danger! set.
“It’s intimidating to be on that set. He (Trebeck) did very well.
The experience was nothing but positive for Yost. He said, “It was great, the energy was really fun… They all had their strange personalities. Many of them had very, very crazy outfits they wore. They auditioned as the team they had to take the quiz (to ride the show).
Jost also depends on outstanding writing for various series on Surated Night Live and for SNL50 Variety Special: This year’s Emmys Anniversary Special.
